Yesterday morning on Interstate 83, units arrived to find a heavily entrapped patient, which took many Mutual Aide Partners, along with Baltimore County Fire Department USAR 17(Texas) over 2.5 hours to extricate the patient.
Patient care was established immediately and Maryland State Police - Aviation Command responded with two Helicopters one for the patient and the other to bring Doctors, Surgeons and Trauma Nurses from R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center to aide in patient care and stabilization until they were extricated.
Even with an extended extrication time all crews worked feverish and jointly to make every effort for a positive outcome for the Patient.
