Recruitment & Retention

The Maryland Line Volunteer Fire Company has three different types of membership: Associate, Active, and Junior. We are always looking to add qualified people to our dedicated team of men and women volunteers.

Associate Member

These members help with the administrative aspects of MLVFC. They are not active firefighters and/or EMTs. Instead, these people dedicate their time to helping the company operate efficiently and effectively. Quite often, these people are retired lawyers, accountants, or other professionals that have the desire to keep their skills sharp while volunteering their time. Several of our Board Of Directors members are associate members. If you are interested in becoming an associate member, please fill out an application or call the firehouse. 410-887-1932


Active Member

Active members are firefighters/EMTs that respond to emergency calls. These members go through intense training to become active firefighters. The training requirements for devoted active members are immense. MLVFC currently has over 25-30 active members and is always looking to add to its team. If you would like to become an active firefighter, please fill out an application and drop it off or call the firehouse. 410-887-1932


Junior Member

Junior members are young men and women between the ages of 8 and 16 who want to learn about the fire department. The Juniors are taught many aspects of the fire service from first aid to fire prevention. To learn more please visit our juniors section on this website, or call 410-887-1932
