On Tuesday June 9,2009 at 11:00am Baltimore County Fire Department Officials announce the opening of Baltimore County Fire Department Parkton Station 60. The new station Baltimore County officials and Fire Service leaders broke ground in March 2008 for a new, permanent station #60. Work on the station continued through early 2009; the station opened for service June 1, 2009 and dedicated ceremonies were held June 9, 2009

The new station cost is $5.5 million and is situated at 18615 Middletown Road, behind the park-and-ride. It is a full-size, three bay, drive-though facility, measuring 10,755 square feet.

Coinciding with the opening of the new station, Engine 60 for the first time provides 24/7 suppression services to Northern Baltimore County. The station also houses a brush unit and a medic that continues 24/7 medical services.
